Gotta be honest, the orchestration has always ruined the punchline for me. Having her quietly
leave after the bombshell is much more effective than having the violins run up and down to fill
space.

Perhaps the point is she (as his mother? Caretaker?) represents the rest of society.
They tentatively pity us, but not enough to actually do anything about it. She points out the
fallacy in his statement but immediately dismisses any actual sympathy; works pretty well with
the violin desu

I got the point. The violin steps on the punchline by filling in the beat. My objection solely
