  Not just the "death" of /f/ but flash in general. Some sites have implemented ruffle or flash
  emulators and shit like that to ensure their survival (think newgrounds), but imagine the sheer
  amount of miscellaneous other obscure flash sites that'll be dust in the wind in a day's time.
  Personally it's saddening to think that most of the games and animations and stuff that i loved
  as a kid is just going to disappear from the internet forever, it just won't be the same.

  the sad fact is that the internet is so different now that Flash's end is incidental. people used
  to communicate to the world through their personal websites about their hobbies and interests;
  Flash was a way of making yours special and interactive, and of setting yourself apart a little
  from the competition. now a personal website is considered a waste of time, because best way to
  communicate is through Twitter or anywhere else where you contribute to someone's feed through
  rigidly formatted posts designed to be as brief and unremarkable as possible. how can Flash be a
  useful tool in an internet where people think like that?

  I usually don't really give a shit about goodbyes, but flash going away does seem to be a pretty
  big phase shift in what the internet "is". The Web 3.0-ication of the internet is complete.
  Seeing /f/ post all these sad threads (last touhou tuesday, last lolicatgirls.swf, last chance to
  beat Winnie Pooh Derby, last dose, etc. etc.) is pretty nice. A cool reminder that flash is a
  culture and there isn't any place other place quite like /f/ on the internet.

  It WILL be really funny when we all wake up on Jan 1st and everything is pretty much the same
  here only the embed feature doesn't work. All this drama for basically just a disappearance of a
  minor convenience.

  Who gives a shit about those. The real tragedy was the disappearance of m0ar and its 19658
  gazillion clones, and that happened gradually over the past decade. They were unique and nothing
  quite matched them. /f/ got close but it's not the same.
