In all seriousness, flash was never 'the best'. It was closed-source and used way more than
anyone would expect. HTML5 and other media provide sufficient ways to replace it.
What really is missing is the whimsical culture of the web that started to die 10 years ago, and
death of flash is taking a big chunk of that legacy.

Flash was accessible though. I have the distinct impression that most people's first flash was
produced by aimlessly dicking around with whatever was in their start menu. HTML5 is more
involved than that, if you make an HTML5 Canvas video by dicking around that's some pretty
involved dicking around. The sophistication of the tools replacing flash come at an accessibility
  cost.
