What's the source of the story? It's much more fleshed out than the Brothers Grimm version, and
similar to the one from Jin-Roh

I don't know. I've often wondered if Little Red Riding Hood was supposed to be the mirror version
of Iron John for girls->women, just as Iron John was a transformative path for boys->men.
Interesting to note that most male mythos has been reduced from one that guides men to maturation
to one that shows two-dimensional cutouts, i.e. power figures, which in modern times are
distilled down to action figures at best.

I just went back and did some cursory research. Turns out there are several versions, and the
earlier versions have the wolf eating both grandmother and the girl, with no happy ending. The
huntsman shows up in later versions, so this is definitely a retelling that mixes old and new.
