We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and developers who have used and created Flash Player content over the past two decades. We’re proud We hope that Flash has played a critical role in the creation of animation, interactivity, audio and video web content and we look forward to helping shape the next era of digital experiences. Adobe will stop supporting Flash Player after December 31, 2020, and Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player starting January 12, 2021; Adobe strongly recommends that all users uninstall Flash Player immediately to protect their systems. Some users may still see reminders from Adobe to uninstall Flash Player from their system. For more details and links to instructions for users who wish to manually uninstall Flash Player, please visit our General Information About Flash Player EOL page . “ Marked for deletion (old). >> [_] Anonymous 12/08/20(Tue)19:30:09 No.3448760 TLDR >Flash will be discontinued on December 31 >Flash-based content will be blocked from Flash player on January 12 >> [_] Anonymous 12/08/20(Tue)21:31:26 No.3448775 It's strange to decide to release the final version now when there's three weeks left of the year. Since the holidays always turn out to be an issue they should have set the end date on January 31st instead. I hope blocking the update task will stop this from happening. >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)06:17:08 No.3448831 >>3448828 it does not, the plugin has a kill switch that checks the computer's clock >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)09:18:24 No.3448845 >>3448831 Well, then just set that to 2020 >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)10:15:50 No.3448857 >>3448845 if you don't care about breaking other stuff that'll work >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)11:10:58 No.3448858 >>3448759 >Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player starting January 12, 2021 Does this mean this board will die on January 12th? >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)11:34:21 No.3448861 >>3448759 Has someone found the version of flash without the kill switch? >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)12:19:30 No.3448866 why are they so intent on killing flash? why cant they just let us keep it and deal with the consequences ourselves? i'm not a retard downloading freebitcoin.swf from limeware or some shit >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)13:00:22 No.3448867 >>3448858 No, fuck you. Google and Microsoft are happy to see their competitor's product be retired and have spent years smearing Flash's reputation as inherently unsafe. It would make Adobe look suspect if they ended Flash support without also "protecting" users from it. >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)13:32:37 No.3448873 https://i.imgur.com/GKiOVoG.png this program will be released for all windows versions, major linux distros and macos soon(tm) >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)13:51:32 No.3448875 >>3448858 Nah, the files will still be here, and you can still upload to here, you just can't view them on the board itself, you'd have to have some kind of flash watching app like the one Newgrounds made a few months back. I had this problem forever but it took me until the death of flash to ask this funnily enough. >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)15:05:22 No.3448883 Just use an external player, it's how I've played flash files for a while since iirc operagx or whatever else I used a while ago would just try to download the flash if I opened it without embedding. It just means I'll need to make a folder for stuff I haven't looked at yet to know if I wanna save it >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)18:05:59 No.3448889 >>3448857 There's wrappers that can accomplish this too. e.g. on linux I can $ faketime '2001-09-11 08:46' flashplayer I assume similar exist on windows, not that I ever checked. >> [_] Anonymous 12/09/20(Wed)18:08:34 No.3448890 >>3448889 I might add that this whole "kill switch" thing made me try the opposite before.
