There is some gorgeous scenery in our country thanks to the Alps. >> [_] ta-kun 06/23/21(Wed)12:53:48 No.3467779 I live in the mountains. every view is a valley, a hill, a place rolling or climbing somewhere else. Most of it has been soiled by scum of the earth, but every once in a while, you see a side of the mountain you never seen before. A few months back I worked in a place I hated deeply. One day as I was walking around, trying to avoid going back, if for just another moment, I found a wall of dead trees and branches, piled up on one another, creating a barrier between me whatever was on the other side. I looked for a break in the formation I found one As I walked through the trees I felt like I was being transported to another world. The air smelled different, the grass was wet, it was covered in tall flowers, rolling green hills rolling onto eternity. Grass that has yet to be trampled... Air that smells like a kiss of mountain wind... I would go every day there, a few times I got a talking too for vanishing, I was there sitting enjoying my other world. One day I fell I'll, with a combination of exhaustion I had to stay at home for two weeks to rest. But... when I came back... It was all gone. All that was left was dry stalks, broken bone dry dirt, and rooted trees. Heartbroken, I still check up on that place every once in a while. a small part of it was turned into a parking space, the rest is laying barren as crews seem to yet still crawl around the mountain side, destroying things with no green future in sight. I never liked the people here, they would trample beauty because they surely know better, turning valleys into poverty towns, and mountain tops into cheap parks... But nothing solidified my disdain for them like seeing my piece of hope, my little green piece of heaven taken away. One day I will roam my own peace of heaven, blue skies with big fluffy clouds, rolling hills, tall grass, countless flowers, that same smell I smelled back then. Maybe, I will be seeing it alone again or maybe I'll see it with someone who appreciates that view just as much as me. >> [_] Anonymous 06/24/21(Thu)13:51:19 No.3467837 >>3467709 my man, I pick up trash religiously for our nature when im walking my dog to converse as much as I can. >>3467779 for a second I got lost in your words must have been really something >> [_] Anonymous 06/24/21(Thu)20:40:47 No.3467854 I live in eastern NC right now man I love working outdoors, I'm working at a surveyors firm currently and man is it cool trekking through a forest and getting to a swamp where its cool and wide open with big sycamore trees. It is very cool retracing the lines some poor bastard had to cut 100 years ago without automatic surveying equipment. But I also see the worst, do you know how much trash is fucking everywhere, especially older residential lots will just have trash everywhere. But it's really just the cities that are bad. The land lost to time is the most beautiful as you feel like you and the people you work with are the only ones who have seen it in the past 20 to 30 years. >> [_] Anonymous 06/25/21(Fri)05:17:20 No.3467862 >>3467837 Oh yeah, picking up trash when wandering outside is cool. I sometimes can't make myself go outside, because I don't see any meaning in that - just go somewhere and then back. But when I take a trash bag with me and collect trash on the way, it gives the walk a goal. |
