I just download them to disk and watch with the flash projector. Some break because they load too
fast or attempt to access the internet.
There is no extra danger in keeping a flash-enabled browser around because you can stop it from
playing automatically, but I like to save flashes.

Firefox ESR with some old Flash player plugin. I never kept it up-to-date so I never got the
self-destruct timer. Being lazy pays off.

Run an http server locally. Remember to set Content-type: application/x-shockwave-flash

that's a lot of non-trivial work to play local flash files with your browser when you can just
use adobe's flash projector exe to open swf files offline.
