I'm wondering, since I have my own archive of about 3,500 flash files from this board, if there is someone with a bigger archive that would be willing to share it. i've been trying to work on a program that essentially acts like an offline version of flash, where it looks and feels like the board, and it will randomly post a flash from my archive every 2-10 minutes if kept open. im working on adding randomized comments, and even response comments to some of them. if anyone has more flashes pls post a mega upload, when im done I'll have something to show for it >> [_] Anonymous 09/07/21(Tue)12:23:22 No.3471908 >>3471906 I think there was a thread on /t/ for old /f/lashes, try checking there. >> [_] Anonymous 09/07/21(Tue)13:35:32 No.3471915 >>3471906 quite the opposite actually there was a huge influx of newfags and tourists on /f/ during the first half of the year, only recently it died down again I mean, when was the last time that OC was posted regularely? 2006? >archive I mean there are the online archives, swfchan and 4plebs also this I suppose: https://mega.nz/folder/cEFQnZKS#BTYA4DQuRJujrmu6r33Icw >> [_] Anonymous 09/07/21(Tue)17:43:49 No.3471939 >>3471906 >>3471908 that thread on /t/ is still there, it looks like some people added on too. If you get that program working put a link to it on /f/, it'd be interesting to see at the very least. >> [_] Anonymous 09/07/21(Tue)17:46:18 No.3471940 >>3471915 >https://mega.nz/folder/cEFQnZKS#BTYA4DQuRJujrmu6r33Icw this helps a lot, thanks! >>3471908 I'll look through and see if I can find it >> [_] Anonymous 09/07/21(Tue)17:48:54 No.3471941 >>3471939 I will, but with my job taking up most of my time, it might be a long while until I have time to work on it and finish it. I want it to be a purely offline /f/ expeirence, like if the internet went offline you could take this program with you to your cabin innawoods and still pretend to browse /f/ daily. if there are any major updates or if i cancel the project, I'll post my own thread or something >> [_] Anonymous 09/07/21(Tue)21:56:26 No.3471953 >>3471906 though the board kinda hard-lived for a while there right at the first few hours of the year, with a million flashes being posted by people thinking the board would go offline at any moment >> [_] Anonymous 09/08/21(Wed)07:01:06 No.3471965 >>3471941 Hate to break it to ya, but the people on /f/ were a major contribution to how the board felt. If it was just random flashes, it would have been fine, but not nearly as great as it was. So unless you find a way to simulate actual /f/ responses in a funny new way, then I'm afraid there is no such thing as an offline /f/ experience. |
