I did the workaround that was posted here a few weeks ago when flash was dying, so I downgraded
to the previous version, but it appears that now Firefox has dropped support entirely. Do I have
to use ruffle now or is there a way I can simply force firefox to open flashes as before?

Or downgrade to an earlier version of firefox. If you want to use palemoon, make sure to open up
the flash directly, don't click the [Embed], as that uses ruffle and will slow down the browser.

I use palemoon, but only for flash. Everything else in on da goog.
You will have to uninstall flash from your computer, make your computer not do automatic updates
on flash, then download a later version that will work.
Some anon probably has the pasta for it.

You can still use Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) to play flash in your browser. I am on
Firefox 78.7.1esr (64-bit), updated today, and I can still watch flash.
This will work for several more months, after that we'll see what can be done.

I'm on 78.7.0 of ESR and embedded flash still uses shit ruffle instead of the older version of
flash I have installed. I don't know why it defaults to ruffle, but if anyone knows how to change
that I'd be happy to know.

first of you don't need to install ruffle, it's integrated into the embed feature so that any
device can use it but as >>3459944 said it doesn't work for everything

Just open it in a new tab what the fuck is wrong with you.
There's no issues in doing this except some flashes don't letterbox properly their rendering zone.
Or better yet, just use the standalone flash player.

This is because the dev on /f/ has switched embed into using Ruffle and he is too lazy to
implement a checkbox option that sets a cookie, which allows the use of the original swf embed.
Dude it's not hard. I know you're reading this since we don't have many threads and they last for
a long time with few replies.
