Heya /f/riends
I recently downloaded the standalone flash player for Linux from Adobe's website
(https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html).
I can open swf files with it just fine, but it can't display some of the properly. Flashes with
buttons especially seem to be mostly broken. This one for instance >>3466513 is completely
fucked, here is what it looks like in my flash player. https://files.catbox.moe/yns52c.png
But some flashes with only simple animations or an embedded video are also broken. I can post
more examples if you want.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? Am I missing some libraries?
I'm on xubuntu, by the way. (Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS)
Thanks in advance.

Are you using NVIDIA drivers?

It maybe reminds me a little about a similar problem I had with my flash plugin on windows.
In browser, flash animations were looking kind of broken, like the old frame would partially
reside and not get completely overwritten by the new frame.
Turns out the culprit was a setting in the browser config (firefox) something like
dom.plugins.asynchronous_drawing enabled.
So I disabled the setting and it worked normally. Might wanna look into that, hope it might help.

dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled;false
for fix.

Yes, I am using proprietary NVIDIA drivers.
Also, nice trips.

Alright, I was trying to find some settings to play around with in the flash player GUI, since I
have no clue how to do it with the terminal and I couldn't find a manual.
In the right click menu on any given flash, there are two options: "Settings..." and "Global
Settings...".
Selecting "Global Settings..." doesn't do anything except freeze the flash that is opened at the
moment for a few seconds, it seems to be broken.
"Settings..." opens an actual settings menu. I couldn't find anything that looked similar to "
dom.plugins.asynchronous_drawing" so I just started playing around with random settings, an lo
and behold, disabling hardware acceleration fixed it perfectly.
Thank you!

There's this thing but you need the in browser version to change the settings.
