Okay /f/uckers, it's time to get off your asses and make some catchy loops! This tutorial gives
you a basic look at how Flash works, how to make a loop, and how to amaze your /f/riends -- no
actionscript required!
I was a real slowpoke making this flash. I started it in February 2021. I hope it encourages some
of you who haven't created one before to give this whole Flash thing a shot -- it's not so hard
once you understand the basics. If you have suggestions to improve this tutorial (I'm sure you'll
have many) I may incorporate them in a later version.
As a reference, here is the .fla file for the loop you are guided to make:
https://mega.nz/file/wYZH1DIC#74IipfICejmCQY_roz6RFLuJz8bw8I06zmZNK0w7dH8
I had better see some fresh loops in the next few days!

Holy shit. Based and /f/pilled to hell and back. All newfags need to see this.
MODS STICKY THIS. /F/ IS IN DYER NEED OF A PROPER STICKY FOR NEWFAGS.
>> [_] Anonymous 08/07/22(Sun)18:50:31 No.3486356
Excellent stuff, OP. May /f/ live forever.
I would add that if you want to use scripting and you care about Ruffle compatibility (not like
the mods will ever update the version of Ruffle the site uses) then you should use AS2 and maybe
an older version of Flash. I like Flash 8.

It's nice that you can actually embed this flash and it works perfectly fine, I think this alone
is a big attraction

Wait, can I make my Flashes in an older version of Flash and export it in CS6 or do I have to do
everything in CS6?

the biggest issue with this board is the lack of flash support. i have an isolated several years
out of date customized firefox just to see anything on this board. when are mods gonna implement
ruffle

OP here. I'm glad people actually find this useful.
>>3486392
I deliberately didn't mention Ruffle because I feel like people should be using the projector.
But I do all my flashes in AS2 because they 95% work in Ruffle, and I'm too lazy to learn AS3
anyway.

>I do all my flashes in AS2 because they 95% work in Ruffle, and I'm too lazy to learn AS3 anyway
As someone who was forced to learn AS3 in college, I can safely say it's an absolute waste of
time. AS3 was made during the days of "everything /must/ be object oriented or else it's
obsolete" and it shows. Even something as making a clickable button is a chore and a half to do.
The fact that Action Script programing is no longer used professionally outside of some mobile
apps, and the fact that modern Flash files are most likely not going to be communicating with
remote servers or networks pretty much makes AS3 useless, especially since Ruffle uses AS2 mostly.

Is it ok to post animations, content, and whatnot on this board that do not involve flash, or is
that heresy?

So cool! I just recently got into making loops specifically like this and everything about this I
had learned except for the symbol part!!! I was manually moving each frame of the gif frame by
frame because I didn't know any other way to do it! Thank you OP!!!!
