These people the zeitgeist movement has referenced regarding their insights into our current
fraudulent social atmosphere. Ideas like the market exists because of human nature, and wealth =
happiness. Gabor Mate for example presents the idea that CEOs of corporations are simply addicted
to monetary profit and the impact of that addiction is more devastating in terms of the
environemtnal and social cost compared with someone's substance addiction. Yet the addiction to
monetary profit is endorsed and rewarded and isn't seen as a problem.
