  i find if my mind is on some really painful tangent and I'm having a hard time controling it, I
  either look in a different direction, or I play the whiney the pooh game. teh one where you point
  at shit and say it's name. about half the time I say nigger but I sometimes get it right.
  I figure it's better than counting down because you won't be a ticking time bomb, and you learn
  to become aware of yourself, your surroundings, and learn how to use the enviroment your in to
  affect your mood.

  Depression is something you need to fix yourself but one tip I've heard is that you get a little
  blank paper booklet and write down 1 thing every day that you are thankful for. Even if it's just
  "nice weather" or "I'm able to buy food at the supermarket".
