[_] My only Seven of Nine Anon 3415312 You make me happy when subspace is chaotic Marked for deletion (old).
>> [_] Anon 3415336 >># Only two good characters on the show. Did they fug?
>> [_] Anon 3415340 >># >Did they fug? No, the Doctor did develop some feelings for her by the end of Season 5, but she informed him that no one on the ship was fit for being her partner. Don't know if that changes in Season 6 or 7, I'm not there yet. >Only two good characters on the show. Short-haired Kes was great, I really liked her. Disheveled Chakotay was pretty good (Killing Game, Nemesis, Living Witness), but Vision Quest Chakotay was tacky. I like Janeway a lot, but she's a little too eager to throw her life/crew away. Tuvok is good. And a handful of minor/villain of the week characters were good. I particularly liked Annorax.
>> [_] Anon 3415343 >># >># did ... did anyone fugg?
>> [_] Anon 3415345 >># Harry Kim fugged an alien. Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres fug all the time, so loud that everyone on their deck can tell. Q and Q (female) fugged and made a baby. The Doctor fugged an alien. All I can think of off the top of my head.
>> [_] Anon 3415353 https://youtu.be/QPZIb0XcQ-s Why is the hologram so consistently creepy
>> [_] Anon 3415354 >># That scene was from Darkling, where the Doctor incorporated the personalities of Lord Byron and T'Pau into his program. He wanted to capture their admirable qualities, but unintentionally also incorporated Lord Byron's twisted psyche, and T'Pau's ruthlesness. Thus turning him into something he's not. Those parts of him were then deleted.
>> [_] Anon 3415379 Most awkward Star Trek ever. Kirk is rolling in his grave. Picard is puking merlot.
>> [_] Anon 3415387 >># Glad you seem to be enjoying it so far. Voyager is probably my least favorite Trek. I feel like the potential conflict of the mixed Maquis/Star Fleet ship is resolved way too quickly, and a show that should've been about Janeway struggling to hold together a Star Fleet ship while decades from home just became TNG-lite. Not to mention all the characters that I wanted to leave whenever they appeared on screen (Neelix, Harry, pan-flute Chakotay, etc). I do like Tuvok getting pissed at everyone, though. Poor Vulcan on a ship full of idiots.
>> [_] Anon 3415388 Tukok a shit. All Treks became cringe. Wish it would go back to original vision, and not a vehicle for liberalism.
>> [_] Anon 3415389 >># Lizard Paris x Lizard Janeway (S02E15 Threshold)
>> [_] Anon 3415390 >># (me) *Tuvok
>> [_] Anon 3415391 >># Gorn World
>> [_] Anon 3415392 >># >Wish it would go back to original vision, and not a vehicle for liberalism Every Star Trek is basically equally left-of-center for their respective decade.
>> [_] Anon 3415393 >># true that... Gene Roddenberry was a huge liberal.... too bad he couldn't enjoy California Today...
>> [_] Anon 3415394 >># >Wish it would go back to original vision, and not a vehicle for liberalism. Ha ha holy shit are you fucking serious? The show about space communism? The show where the creator forced a loophole to ensure that a black woman was always in every episode in the midst of the civil rights movement, and had the first interracial kiss on television? The show in which the military has been all but dismantled to only serve in true defense and selfless exploration? Fuck, if anything Star Trek has gotten less liberal.
>> [_] Anon 3415395 >># Genuine question, how old are you? 15? 16?
>> [_] Anon 3415402 >># "Picard" sold out to the sjw diversity clique. Fuck that faggot frenchman
>> [_] Anon 3415406 >># random dude coming through, why are you putting 'picard' in quotes? and what exactly do you mean by he sold out to the sjw clique? i think i can safely debate the last item, however, since he only ever went out with/married members of the opposite sex during the course of the show. may i assume you're just kidding around by acting mentally impaired?
>> [_] Anon 3415412 >># Ah right, a classic example. >># >the potential conflict of the mixed Maquis/Star Fleet ship is resolved way too quickly True, they could've gotten a few more episodes out of that, but I think eventually they'd just be repeating the same scenario, or a very similar one. >should've been about Janeway struggling to hold together a Star Fleet ship while decades from home just became TNG-lite I think the concept of Janeway struggling to hold a Star Fleet ship together was what ended up happening, she's the constant voice of ideals on the ship, the one who's always making things harder for everyone in order to uphold Star Fleet principles. Constantly, people bring up how they don't /have/ to do that because they're so far from home, but Janeway always reminds them that they must hold on to their principles. I think Voyager faced it's fair share of near-destructions to say that Janeway often struggled to hold the ship together. Maybe not from a mutiny, but from something. >just became TNG-lite I agree that some of the aspects (that made TNG great) were present in Voyager. The episodic format of encountering an alien species and having to resolve some sort of problem, or holo-deck adventure gone wrong. To me that was welcome, I wouldn't want every single episode to be a full-blown drama where the ship almost gets destroyed, or battle is waged for 45 minutes straight. I really enjoyed some of the non-action, insightful episodes like Real Life, or Latent Image. The kind that TNG is praised for. I don't think being similar to TNG in this regard is a bad thing at all. I think it works great that we have those kinds of episodes mixed in with action-packed episodes where the ship almost falls apart. >Not to mention all the characters that I wanted to leave whenever they appeared on screen (Neelix, Harry, pan-flute Chakotay, etc) Agreed on Neelix and Vision Quest Chakotay, TNG had stronger individual characters
>> [_] Anon 3415414 >># 2/2 I think TNG at its best is better than Voyager at its best. Largely because of Stewart's acting. Episodes like The Inner Light and Family come to mind. Also had the better 2-parters Data is also the best character of the two. Voyager has been most consistently good. Almost every episode in Season 4 was top notch. Production values were also a lot higher. Cheesy effects had a big affect on a lot of TNG episodes.
>> [_] Anon 3415419 >># >blah blah blah you literally defined progressive liberalism. >># Probably old enough to be your father, Luke.
>> [_] Anon 3415421 >># >The Inner Light i cry every time
>> [_] Anon 3415434 >># >you literally defined progressive liberalism. Yeah it's crazy how all of that was in the 1960s Star Trek, boomer.
