  Imagine if one day some 16 year old would make a video essay about how olden flash culture was
  great and nostalgic and anyone should experience it and how you're still able to do that on /f/,
  which in turn would cause a flood of zoomers to come here, while spamming gay shit brainrot
  skibidi toilet tik toks etc. How would we prevail? Would we even prevail? Or maybe that would be
  a net positive for us?

  Of course, I highly doubt this ever happening, given that the public perception of 4chan is that
  this is 'le evil nazi pedo site', but you might never know...

  Part of the beauty of our corner of the internet and why it's (mostly) free of modern brainrot
  bullshit is because its more difficult to get into. You'd have to go find a working copy of
  flash, find an editor, learn to use it to convert 15 seconds of tik tok garbage into a format
  that 5 people are gonna see on a vietnamese cave painting forum. There will be no mass demand for
  this because it would require an attention span orders of magnitude longer than the modern person
  possesses.
  I wouldn't mind the younger generation appreciating what we did back in the heyday, but there is
  absolutely no chance of it making a transformation to modernity.

  It's also worth noting that this has happened before. The very concept of newfags and oldfags
  describes this process. Indeed, oldfags are a cohort, rather than something one can get
  grandfathered into. In the days of yore, most would agree that only those who found 4chan before
  around 2006 can be considered oldfags, because after that the site went "mainstream" (by
  contemporary Internet standards) in a way that flooded the site with millions of users. They
  tried their best to preserve their early culture, but fucking newfags like me at the time came
  and ruined it. Like the flash OP posted, we started enjoying the site wrong, and for the wrong
  reasons. And now that stuff is just a part of 4chan's history. Make of it what you will, but it's
  just part of the story. I think if an event like OP describes would happen, it would just be the
  next chapter in an already long and rich history.

  I mean it DID happen with flash games.
  Believe it or not, at least among gaming affinity people, flash games really hold a nostalgic
  memory still.
  Not so much flash as a format or as a whole, but those games every kid killed some time with at
  some point really, reaaaally left a mark on this generation of people. Everyone loved them, but I
  guess normalfags kinda accepted that they are now what became gacha mobile slop app games.
