  I would agree that "homies," which, to my knowledge, originates in ebonic speech, does indeed
  "signal" the speakers of such slang, primarily black Americans. "Bro," on the other hand, is
  generally conceived to be a wider group of people, which consists of the American male youth,
  middle and lower classes.
  The difference of "before" and "over" is neglegible, and I have heard "bros over hoes" used
  instead.
