It's so frustrating how swfchan doesn't tell you where it saw a flash if it's from a
web/newgrounds crawl and not a wikiable flash board

I've had this exact same frustration.
I'm also struggling to find the list of which sites its sourcing from. The most I've been able to
find is "various chans". Do you know where I can find the exact list?

I haven't looked for any such list. It has certainly crawled Newgrounds and there are a lot of
super long booru filenames on some files with no associated threads (which rules out someone
posting a booru filename'd flash on 7chan or other site where swfs keep their names).
