I got 35 on my first shot but I played this religiously 20 years ago when I was in highschool.
The trick was to hyper jump and kill from above, it'll give you a random weapon.

you can also change the keys. I feel like the base weapon is best, keep the heli above you,
easiest to avoid bullets when they come right above your head.
