Rena: Ryuukishi's early works were a little too edgy for my tastes, but when Rei came out in '09, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The anime has a clear, crisp art style, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the series a big boost. But they should, because it's not just about slice of life happiness, and the importance of trusting your friends, it's also a personal statement about anime itself. Rena: Hey Keiichi-kun!
