It's been a good run on this site and a lot of nostalgia for years to come.

It's mostly legacy content that uses it, so what should it matter if someone wants to have it installed? >> [_] Anon 3450848 >># I don't understand why Adobe feels the need to put a kill switch in the plugin. You'd think it should be enough that 99.99% of all browsers stop supporting NPAPI. >> [_] Anon 3450880 >># Man I know everyone says "what's the problem it'll still be here just in different players", but I feel like it takes away a lot of the old charm when instead of just being on a browser you need to get a whole different program to run Newgrounds shit >> [_] Anon 3450882 >># You don't. Marked for deletion (old). >> [_] Anon 3447745 is there a better version of this video? any sources for the music? >> [_] Anon 3447746 >> [_] Anon 3447791 >># Not even close. Flash was such an important part of the internet, there are seriously tons of ways to view an SWF file nowadays. I highly doubt that Hiro is going to purge this board, and if he does, he clearly is an idiot. >> [_] Anon 3447798 >># Yes there is. File: Goodbye friends.swf-(4.75 MB, 640x480, Loop) [_] Anon 3447529 This popped up today so I made this for you. Marked for deletion (old). >> [_] Anon 3447531 As in good old /f/ tradition, I made this to commemorate our end. I made this flash in default windows video maker, exported it, imported it, exported to .MP4 and then compressed it twice from 220 MB to 34 MB. Afterwards, converted it to .SWF and then compressed that one more time. I hope you guys enjoy :) >> [_] Anon 3447536 It is not quite over yet. This is nice either way. >> [_] Anon 3447538 >># Just seeing it pop up and tell me to uninstall really made me feel weird and sad idk >> [_] Anon 3447540 Thanks anon. Currently we have ruffle in 4chan.org/flash, so there is at least some chance we will also get it on our /f/ >> [_] Anon 3447562 >># what song did you use? >> [_] Anon 3447563 >># >># This Is The End - Anamanaguchi. Thanks friends >> [_] Anon 3447564 >># there is a way to keep using the latest version of the flash plugin http://swfchan.net/43/MC1JOTP.shtml just also need a browser that supports NPAPI >># lulz first thought i had when i opened the flash was that the background could have been a png image, the /f/ text could have been actual text, the rotating present could have been a gif and the snowflakes could also have been gif (a different one) i wonder if it's possible to use actionscript 3 to render an embedded movie to BitmapData and swap out all variations of green color to transparency, then you could make more cost effective transparent snow flakes (in terms of file size) and also have for example 50% alpha where you swap remaining green traces into semi-trasparent white i think it's possible, have been meaning to try for several years but never got around to it >> [_] Anon 3447572 more like this pooped up today, hehehe >> [_] Anon 3447588 >># >># /f/ is staying, and websites that use flash won't be going away. Ever heard of ruffle? It's this real time flash polyfill tool where all you do is include the script in your page and it will replace all flash embeds with HTML5 compatible versions, it will convert the flash in real time to canvas. I've already implemented it on my website and now you never even get the "click to allow flash". >> [_] Anon 3447590 >># there is I heard that staff is planning to put ruffle here to keep /f/ alive iirc >> [_] Anon 3447591 Instantly thought of /f/ when this popped up today. End of an era but it was fun >> [_] Anon 3447593 >># is painless and it brings many changes >> [_] Anon 3447594 /f/ isn't going away but Ruffle is shit. >> [_] Anon 3447595 just don't update your browser lol >> [_] Anon 3447599 fuck em >> [_] Anon 3447605 Flash is not going anywhere. Ruffle is one option to keep it going and potentially even expanding flash to a whole new audience, since it makes flash playable on mobile devices where it didn't work until now. It's not the end, this is another beginning. >> [_] Anon 3447607 >browser randomly stopped running flash even when I permit it to >never uninstalled flash and it even still urges me to do so >I'm going to miss the last moments of actual swfs running on /f/ and the goodbyes people make for it It's not really that significant but I'm honestly a bit upset. /f/ has been a fixture of my freetime on-and-off for more than a decade now. At least Ruffle will stop this shit from happening anymore. >># I don't know exactly what this swf looks like but you're great for going out of your way, OP. >> [_] Anon 3447611 >># do you have the link for the script? |
