[_] Anon 3464908 Wanna go back to the 2000s?
>> [_] Anon 3464911 >># yes, even if i couldn't gain money from it in some way i'd make some changes to myself
>> [_] Anon 3464921 >># God, I miss the Iraq war being the worst of our problems. I miss before 2000 even more, when people still believed our elections weren't retarded.
>> [_] Anon 3464923 If I had a penny for every time some anon on 4chan posted that they wanted to go back to a time they were more ignorant, I would be rich.
>> [_] Anon 3464927 >># for sure. probably is nostalgia, but there's just a simpler feel to the 00's culture that was so delightful. The 90's pop era was not quite over yet. Computers were becoming mainstream enough that everyone could find something, yet commercial/corporate interest was still very limited. And even if it wasn't - corporations in general felt way less overbearing Computer animation in all its forms were limited by hardware and software contraints - professional CGI had this obviousness to it that was delightful yet impressive, and professional computer animation had this "early rough" feel because the software just wasn't that developed yet. Amateur animation was limited by technical skills and streaming speeds (I remember waiting FOREVER to get Demented Cartoon Movie to load). We were satisfied with stick animations, crude techniques and such, because we were too preoccupied with the fact that WHOA, we could make and see stuff! That's how I remember it, at least. A lovely, peaceful transition time between a great cultural era and the information age. A wild west of mishmashes of culture, compared to today's paved over corporate culture megalith. >># Ignorance is bliss, after all.
>> [_] Anon 3464928 >># As a continuation - while today does have several great advantages, such as the advanced tech including the massive increase in global trading allowing affordable, quick access to many things, easily accessible tinkering supplies, the advent of 3D printing and such, I'd trade it all for that simplicity. Best of both worlds would be today's progress with yesterday's wild west feel though.
>> [_] Anon 3464932 >># yes
>> [_] Anon 3464939 >># This, sadly the internet will probably only get worse and worse. Not even sure if it's possible to find a physical community that isn't fucked by social media and internet addiction, but also isn't some extreme religious cult.
>> [_] Anon 3464956 >># While many things are as cheap maybe even cheaper and quick to get today, nearly all of them are made even cheaper and quality is harder to come by than ever. So, yeah I could buy lots of crap fast, but why would I even want to buy anything that isn't made to last? If you do, you even pay premium compared to the general quality that basically everything was still made of in the 90s, early 00s.
