This whole thing was so cliche, and while on a whole it was not bad, the story was absolute shit. The idea of an impenetrable, reassembling glass wall is pretty clever, and it is wasted in something as stupid as this. The whole thing is just filled with so many shit, cliche phrases. Like in those movies where it's like "MAMA HOLD ME" and "I MISS YOU SO MUCH" and everyone's like "oh god, fuck you director." One that particularly annoyed me was "It feels cold." >> [_] Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)19:17 No.1209093 Tears? More like "This is idiotic" generic rage. The idea really isn't... If nothing living can pass and it can be struck, you just have to move through it fast enough to avoid consequence. Given that his hand was through the glass and that was about it, we can assume that the time is in fractions of a second. So, we send an object fast enough, problem solved. Making a barrier for living things is a horrible idea. Not explaining it clearly makes it challenging to beat simply because the creator can say "doesn't work, cause lol." This is a mistake people make with animations. Kids, this is not an impassable barrier. The story here retains that IT'S A SERIOUS MATTER. Any person who put serious thought into it would realize there are solutions that don't just include going over or punching it. If you can break it with a bare hand, you could break it with the impact of a much larger object. If they have modern medicine, I'd assume modern transportation. A car, for one. If it yields to a few exchanged punches, a car going 80mph in an abyss would easily do the same. We don't know their ages, but we can assume that they are children, sure. Hell, you could probably manage a bike if you really got going. I've been hit with a bike, it's a hell of a lot worse than a punch. Larger hole, longer to fix, easier to pass through, really. Either explain how that's impossible through the animation itself or don't portray it as the end of the world. >> [_] Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)19:57 No.1209146 >>1209141 Not OP here. :3c >> [_] Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)19:59 No.1209148 >>1209143 When the wall reassembles itself, it pulls back and shreds anything that passes through, you see this in the way the arm moves as it is whipped back forcefully. Any thing moving at a high enough speed can punch through anything else. It could be assumed that the repairing of the glass wall has a rubber band like effect, the further the pieces are scattered the more force and speed they have coming back in. If they can tear up/sever a hand/arm with only a foot or two of distance, they'd do a shit ton more damage if scattered by a higher impact. >> [_] Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)20:09 No.1209161 >>1209155 Call it bullshit all you want, but it's the truth. This entire animation is all for the simple metaphor of a barrier that you can't get rid of. Let's look at the Creator of this. He made this flash for his girlfriend who lived a very long distance away from him. The wall is a symbol of the impassible distance. The breaking and shredding of the arm are symbols of a passage across the distance at the cost of a large sum of money and even then, he is tied to his current position by some unseen power. The fact that he can send the chalk over the wall is that the "over the wall" movement is a communication through the internet or some other device. The cutting off of her own arm is a symbol I don't quite understand at this point. >> [_] Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)23:28 No.1209286 >>1209282 The arm thing is probably just a representation of some sort of sacrifice she made for the relationship, or a symbol of the love they share. >> [_] Anonymous 03/14/10(Sun)00:04 No.1209291 >>1209282 >>1209286 ..That just makes it even more deliciously twisted when he drew a followup image where the guy wrote back "I don't want your arm.
