I think it's a bit sad to pay money to go to a concert to see a hologram.

I take it you don't go out to see movies or watch tv or anything since they're just pictures on a
screen. Hologram or no, they're still paying for a show.

I find it amusing that Miku has fans who will energetically scream upon her entrance and at the
end of each song.

Exactly, and all the Gorillaz did was stand in one spot and re-use the same animations over and
over. I didn't even bother to count how many times Murdoc grabbed his crotch and stuck his tongue
out.

The problem i'm having here is that she's meant to look like she's really there, but with her
jerky movements and anime face, the whole thing just looks unnatural. Maybe if they gave her a
more realistic face it would be more tolerable. I mean, the Gorillaz get away with it because
they are meant to be cartoony, but I didn't see the concert, so I could be wrong.
Also, what the fuck is up with the crowd? What kind of wierdos get to this like that? too many
glow sticks

Maybe she wears a miku helmet or whatever

Nope. The people there saw exactly the same thing as what is in the video. They used some
projectors and a transparent screen.

So anime isn't 'meant' to look "cartoony?"
they probably had vendors/distributors for the glow sticks before the concert.

We can do holograms actually, it's just that "true" holograms are limited in use right now.
And also, extremely expensive. I think it's at least 10k USD just to get a small device that
projects three-dimensional holograms in a localized area. I'm told some well-funded hospitals
have them.
I don't understand the physics of it, but it's something like induced stasis of air molecules,
followed by progressive projection. So nothing fancy, but we just don't have the means to make it
efficient (especially on a large scale like this would have been).
Of course, I could be wrong. They might have spent the whole Japanese military budget on that
thing.

Newfag here. So i get that she's a part of the Vocaloid software line(and please correct me if im
wrong on that.) But what i dont get is what the software Is. You type words, set the pitch, and
edit for trills and what not? Also is this program only in japanese or could i just type
gibberish and she'll go along.
