Yes. This is a finnish joik style song although the words are in swedish [[tl;dr|due to the
vocalist's minority finnish-swedish ethnicity but 99% of people here can understand that language
anyway]]
The guys who like this music generally grow long beards and long hair and wear hammer bracelets
with black or brown leather clothes and hang out at metal bars and drink a lot. So, here, this
can happen. Probably not in your country. But everybody in that crowd is incredibly stupid for
some ostensibly unknown reason. Anyway the music is nice since it's based on finnish folk
melodies. I'll be going now. Oh wait the song, it's called "Emptiness and silence rule" which
means that the forest has taken over:

this part in the flash starts around 1:00
here's the most famous song of that album "the time of the hunt":

you used to hear this on the radio some years back. also the lyrics are awaible at some wiki or
other but it's not like they have any deeper meaning than being forest people and running around
and killing people with the axes

Oh, really, if you're interested, there's a lot more to this. Despite how most of this band's
songs is about running around and killing Christian people with axes, that particular song I
linked is actually about polygamous pairing rituals.
It all has an historical background here, since for about 300 years after the first crusades from
the west [Sweden] or so, the finnish people used to, after being forcibly baptized, live in peace
with the swedish Christian immigrants until their military left, then kill them all, usually with
household implements, and run into the lakes to "wash off" the baptism. Hence also why the patron
saint of Finland is a bishop killed with an axe because he wouldn't pay a peasant back for food.
The native faith and native rebellion survived until about the 19th century -- the forests were
very unsafe to travel without a guardian (a native person from the village-province you were
traveling in) protecting you.

About that time the stories of native faith were recorded into many sources, among them the
internationally known and I think available at proj Gutenberg Kalevala and Kanteletar. With
modern secularization and this being one of the most atheistic countries on earth, all faiths
have died out. However, this band remembers those ideas and stories and mixes and mashes them
with viking sagas. The people I described above, some of them subscribe to a native faith, but
very few. There was a moment pro that, in around the 50's, but nobody really cared. It's another
story of modernization. However, the existence of these long-hair long-beard builtfat pugilist
types is not without a historic background. I didn't imagine it would be of interest any
anglo-saxon but if ya care, there you go.

actually im from Sweden and have been enjoying Finntroll for many years but cheers again for the
information :)
going to copy-paste something from wikipedia just in case anyone reading is interested to learn a
little bit more about sweden
"The eastern half of Sweden, present-day Finland, was lost to Russia in 1809. The last war in
which Sweden was directly involved was in 1814, when Sweden by military means forced Norway into
a personal union which lasted until 1905. Since then, Sweden has been at peace, adopting a
non-aligned foreign policy in peacetime and neutrality in wartime."
almost 200 years of peace, i wish more countries would have it like that. personally i count both
norse and fins as my fellow countrymen, most know swedish anyway in all three countries. of
course once english takes hold for real the whole world might finally unite

notice the OP vid also features the most important national weapons, the wooden mace, the axe and
the long-knife, and the sacred mushroom a muscaria. on the other hand you can easily see this is
all incidental since their hair is dark
/f/ is not the place for a political discussion. but notice that world unity!=equality, in fact
with regard to cultures it's the exact opposite. a spirit of cooperation would be preferred. it's
hoped that the future world will see this. in during nobody gives a shit but w/e
