Am I the only one that feels that Link and Simon Belmont suck?
If Link needs to get that close to hurt someone then it should kill the enemies in one hit, or at
least count as if you jumped on them once. And Simon's uncontrollable jumps are just a giant
handicap in a jumping based platformer...

Yes he can. Your keyboard is probably fairly old and PS/2 based. You can only use two keys at
once. It's probably about time to get a new keyboard if that's the case. It becomes a serious
detriment to the vidya at times.

Link is the "all rounder"
He has great utility with boomerang, does not need to crouch, can control jumps easy, can jump up
and spike enemies like octopus, can sword slash to knock down bricks and take out pesky enemies
like the spiky creatures.
His boomerang can pickup items that would fall away or coins, stop deadly enemies that are
difficult to deal with, cheep cheep.
His down sword attack can save you from enemies that others cant land on, like spikys and piranha
plant and bowser.
I would argue he is more survivable than mega man and just better than mario.
Yes belmont is a bit broken for certain levels, Sure he has great power, axes are monsters, whip
is strong, but the double jump should go.
I think link should have a double jump that he can control in air (roc feather) and maybe simon
should be able to jump high and STOP in air, not control in air though.
