[_] /f/entai - Temple of Ascension Anon 3516880 A quick little project for an /ic/ thread. Happy Christmas eve /f/rens
>> [_] Anon 3516881 Anon who made the painting of Anna here. That's so fucking cool anon! Love what you did. Have a happy christmas bro.
>> [_] Anon 3516887 Damn good stuff. Merry Christmas /ic/ lads
>> [_] Anon 3516898 >># Thank you for the inspo bro, Happy christmas to you too! >># Glad you like it anon, Have a merry xmas as well!
>> [_] Anon 3516900 godspeed ballsong, I tried to do something for christmas but linux isn't best OS for that. I knew when that anon told me "just run wine" he was skipping something. I tried to hop back into windows in shame and defeat, but even then Flash is such a fucking bitch to paint in. Having a method would've helped, this isn't something you can hop in a few days. I give up though. Sorry, /f/frens. If someone wants to prove me wrong and knows about some animation software that can export to swf and works on Linux, I'm all eyes. Merry Christmas.

Like that little Vector Magic thingy. Or the Macromedia Flash 8. I think you should try using png's images to get your feet on the water. I still think that having a dedicated small drive with a windows7 OS and a few good tools is the best option. Happy Christmas anon!
>> [_] Anon 3516909 >># I took this advice on rastering images and had a decent amount of success with it, I'll recommend it as well. You can also do it with a COMPLETELY LEGITIMATE AND PAID FOR version of Adober Iluustrator, also Inkscape isn't a bad option either. Actually drawing in those is a pain in the balls but your process worked for me as well.
>> [_] Anon 3516932 >># I tried SVG but for some reason my COMPLETELY LEGITIMATE AND PAID VERSION of Flash CS6 didn't know what do with it. Then I took the svg, converted it to swf and that somewhat worked? But still, a pain in the ass to get done, and I wanted to do a frame by frame, and in vector animation is just... etc etc. There are other things tools like Toon Boom and that one lets you export to swf, but with no control, no scrip, nothing, just an animation and music. When I tried to install W7 in my new setup it didn't let me because of the hardware or something, so I had to do 10 which I still have just in case, but I'm so stupid I want everything done in Linux. I didn't know you png to vector, looks nice, never would've guessed. Anyway, having no method and wanting to rush things made me give up, but I will give a try to the rastering method you mentioned.
>> [_] Anon 3516934 >># I ran into that problem of saving SVG and it not loading in flash as well, there's some compatibility setting you have to look for that I can't remember off hand. If I sober up and find it I'll come back but look for that and it'll let you export to Flash.
>> [_] Anon 3516946 >># >># Yeah, SVGs are not compatible, you need an .ai(adobe illustrator) format file. I totally agree with getting the Adobe Illustrator, it is worth it, just for the raster to vector tool. That will solve all of your problems. You can still give the Vector Magic a try if you find it, I don't even know if the company still exists or if it even works on windows10, but it is a GREAT little converter. Very limited though, but it works for little projects like these. >I tried to install W7 in my new setup it didn't let me because of the hardware That's fucking scary to think about, that one day, we won't be able to use win7 or even win10 anymore. >I didn't know you png to vector, looks nice, never would've guessed Yeah, You just need that raster to vector (.ai file) converting tool, and your problems in that regard are over. Well, another problems will come then xD. But with that out of the way you can focus on your project making the drawings normally and doing the whole batch of little images conversion at the end. It is recommended to keep the images small between 1000px and 500px, so the final vector file won't be that big. A 300kb vector image file is huge. The image of the sitting girl in this flash is 140kb, (the original png of that image resolution is 500x500px and the size 130kb) that's the biggest file in the whole flash (aside from the music wich is 6MB 95% of the whole file size). Working with small files will make your life easier, Flash is an ancient software, it can throw some paranormal issues at you sometimes when it gets bloated with big files.
>> [_] Anon 3516975 >># I do have this old 2008 laptop I rescued with W7 on it. would be fun if I kept it only to make flash. A time machine stuck in the 2000s. I'll go BUY a COMPLETELY LEGITIMATE AND PAID FOR version of Adober Iluustrator or a converter. >># >># Thanks for your help /f/rens.
