With all the work put into animation, the creator might as well not make them fucking stick

Actually, keeping it stick figures I think adds to it. If the characters are simple, you can
focus on the fluidity of the movement instead of whether they look right in ever panel.
Especially since it's only one guy making an entire series of these battles, instead of a team of
professional animators.
