if humans were herbivores, people would still bitch about how we're hurting plants

Humanity at it's finest. :)

What always bothers me about this song is how they say "This land is mine/ this land is free/
I'll do what I want but irresponsibly". I mean, it's pretty catchy, but "I'll do what I want and
irresponsibly" would both sound better and make a lot more sense
>> [_] Anonymous 10/17/10(Sun)00:23 No.1397292
the strangest thing about this video is how the animator who did Batman managed to make something
genuinely engaging and haunting.

Hey, everything in the world is built on competition, not just humanity. It's almost a tautology
and should be self-evident that species that are better at surviving and populating survive and
populate better. Furthermore, those species that are good at killing reduce others' chances of
survival and maintaining population, increasing their own.
You can angst about it and that's cool, but that's life.

The art style reminds me a lot of the animated Spawn series. Are they the same animators?

the world is built on the struggle to survive.
sometimes that means competition but it is always a means to an end.

No it's not you stupid fag. There is no particular "end" evolution is aimed at. What are you,
some kind of creationist?

obviously the 'end' is the survival of the species you asshat.

No anon, you are the asshat. That's fucking stupid.

Woooooaaaaaahhhhhh, woaaah woaaah, I'm ahead, I'm a man
I'm the first mammal to wear pants, yeah
I am at peace with my lust
I can kill cause in god I trust, yeah
It's evolution baby
I'm a piece of the man
I buy stocks on the day of the crash, yeah
On the loose, I'm a truck
All the rolling hills I'll flatten 'em out, yeah
It's herd behavior, uh huh
It's evolution baby, yeah. Oh yeah.
<<guitar solo>>
Admire me, admire my home, admire my son, he's my clone
This land is mine, this land is free, I'll do what I want yet irresponsibly
It's evolution baby, yeah
>> [_] Anonymous 10/17/10(Sun)10:33 No.1397584
I'm a thief, I'm a liar
There's my church I sing in the choir
<< Hallelujah, hallelujah >>
Admire me, admire my home, admire my son, admire my clothes
Consider, appetite for nightly feasts
Those ignorant Indians got nothing on me
Nothing. Why? Because, it's evolution baby
I am ahead, I am advanced, I am the first mammal to make plans, yeah.
I crawled the earth, but now I'm higher
2010 watch it go to fire
It's evolution baby, yeah
Do the evolution

That's because he had Todd McFarlane directing the video behind his back and a team of 1000
sweatshop korean animators doing the hard parts for him (and i'm serious about the korean thing.
check wiki. It's pretty ironic a clip like this was outsourced).

Hey, Sony owns both Pearl Jam and Rage Against the Machine. They checked this clip to make sure
they like it before it was even drawn. Enjoy thinking rich people can or are willing to rebel -
this is just another form of tittytainment. If you cared about the message, you wouldn't be here
watching and re-watching it in the first place.

It's especially ironic considering this song and movie were apparently inspired by the book
Ishmael, which talks a lot about western society being at odds with and exploiting the rest of
the world, man and nature...

That book sucks though.
>> [_] Anonymous 10/17/10(Sun)12:21 No.1397618
This video is for edgy faggots because it completely ignores the incredible things produced by
Western society. Stunning works of art and technological advancements, heroic humanitarian
efforts, and things produced in the West that have genuinely made life around the world better
such as the concept of inalienable human rights, inventions like penicillin, and electricity.
Fuck the haters.

>>1397618
Dude, I think both the video and the song are more about a certain attitude than people dissing
on the penicillin.

It also ignores the fact that the so-called "primitive societies" despite having a closer
relation to nature were as fucking capable of commiting similar attrocities as we do, such as
human sacrifices, and butchering entire species.
This is why movies like Avatar show a completely falicious pile-of-bullshit view on human-nature
relations. Technology is not the synonym of wrong nor is nature the synonym of harmony and love.
Nature can be fucking damn cruel despite looking beautiful sometimes.
