Just finished watching this anime. It was excellent!

It's about a travelling merchant that picks up this 15 year old girl from a village, although she
happens to be a fox god and has lived hundreds of years. She wishes to return to her home town
that lies to the north in the world. So they travel together from town to time, meeting people
and solving problems while at the same time getting closer to each other. It's a cute anime, no
fan views or fighting in it. Mostly about how to make smart deals (expect logic/solving
situations) and the series does well to comment on how powerful the church was in the past. I
really liked it.

I was just watching one of the episodes. Why's she need to eat wheat to transform? "I'll need
human blood to transform but wheat will do", or something like that. Pretty cool so far but like
the other guy said, it's weird he notices the ears and tail but doesn't notice she's naked? Maybe
she doesn't have nipples or genitals? LOL!! Pretty weird, pretty fun.

It's set in what's basically Dark Ages Europe, and fairly accurate as far as it goes - most
people are just concerned with getting by, the church is way powerful, etc. Plots involve less
fighting and more discovering that a nearby kingdom is about to slightly inflate its currency and
finding economic reasoning for how to profit from that, or how to bypass trade embargoes on fur,
while being slightly jealous of/flirting with hot merchant rivals.
It's Econ 101 with a merchant protagonist and a wolf girl petard.

The basic idea is she watches over the wheat harvest. I suppose in a way she's the 'wheat
goddess'.
All in all, the story does have some sad points, but ultimately the ending is a happy one. I've
heard rumors there's going to be a third season, but I'm not sure where they'd go from here,
considering the end of the second. I won't spoil it and say why, though.
