I'd think it was horrendous if it was an american animation too. In principle, a good dub is the best option. However, very few dubs are good. Cowboy Bebop is one of the few I can think I've liked, wheras if you have ever seen the movie "The Killer" dubbed, then you've heard possibly the worst dub ever. Interestingly, all the french films I have ever watched have been subbed - never seen a dubbed french fil, although I presume they exist.
