Alice's Adventures Underground (As was the original title) was a fantasy story he made up over
the course of several boat trips he took with the girls to entertain them and who were active
helpers in telling his story. It is a simple childs fairytale with a somewhat nightmareish and
largly nonsense happenings and all the characters are based off of people that he knew
(Catapiller and Hatter inclusive).
Although a drug of the day is mentioned in the story, Opium, it wasn't based off o or inspired by
such.
