Electricity at exact frequencies at such high voltages will produce certain tones.
A tesla coil running without anything to regulate the frequency will just sound like static/loud
noise/hissing. My dad has built a couple and owns one. They're not hard to build but do take a
bit of time and effort. A few junkyard parts and a spool of copper wire is all you really need.
Probably the most important part would be a neon sign transformer.
