I think I worked out the secret to trip.swf
The 50 you think he gives him is actually the same five dollar bill with a 0 poorly drawn on
it, causing the toll booth guy to get angry.

Might be that that toll booth needs small change, something like half a dollar. When the clerk
requests smaller change he offers 50 out of spite.
