wow you fixed it. i think someone should say thanks and i guess that'll be me (i never posted
in the thread where they requested a fix)
thanks
though never gonna happen what you said in your comment, the 4chan flash "archive" hasn't been
updated for years

been wondering why this oldie showed up on swfchan, guess i know why now
weird thing they did with the newest flash though to cause this visual bug, i wonder why i
have only ever seen the red overlay thing on the original longcat flash
anyone got more info on that? maybe links to press releases from macromedia (adobe)?
>> [_] Anonymous 10/15/08(Wed)18:10 No.836698
I looked around and found nothing. I've only ever seen it on one other flash (and I can't
remember what that was).
But hooray, Thankings.

/r/ that this gets uploaded to the official archive, to replace the non-working original.

not going to happen
>> [_] JUSTICE PREVAILS 10/15/08(Wed)21:53 No.836773
BRAVO OP!! FINALLY!!!
Now if someone could just fix teh fucking 4chan 4evar clip.
>> [_] Anonymous 10/15/08(Wed)22:21 No.836784
It's a JPEG size limit. The original image is huge (300x17700 pixels), and it probably exceeds
it.
I split it up into 8192 tall portions using a lossless jpeg crop tool, then re-exported the
flash.
>> [_] Anonymous 10/15/08(Wed)22:26 No.836787
But yeah, only problem with this version is noticable lag when it loads a new portion of the
image.

you're sight, now i remember ive seen the same bug there!
>>836784
ah, makes sense. but wait, the images arent huge in 4chan4ever yet that one still bugs? it
must be a mask thing
>>836787
sadly a remake is nearlt never as good as the original
i hope they fix the red overlay issue in the next flash release
>> [_] Anonymous 10/16/08(Thu)00:45 No.836830
The problem is someone deleted the original bitmap image out of the library. There was
initially the Longcat image on the main stage, and the creator of the Flash must have broken
it apart and made it into a vector image; by default Flash uses the original bitmap as a fill.
If you delete the bitmap from the library while the vector image is still on the stage, the
vector’s fill will default to red. i.e., instead of a Longcat rectangle, you get a long red
rectangle. Everyone should save this post, because there's always going to be someone asking
why the image is red, and I don't want to type it out again.

it's not correct though, that's clearly not a vector image
