To be Anonymous is to be free.
The idea of Anonymous is to say your message without an identity. Nothing counts except only
exactly what you write in each post.
For example, a guy might be called brilliant in one post then later in the thread he is called a
twat. But if people knew he was the same person that said the previous brilliant post he might
not be called a twat. Somehow his previous message reduced the idiocy of his latest message. The
Anonymous idea prevents that.
Sadly moot has ruined the basics of this idea on /b/ since he has made IDs for each person
posted. It's good that you can now tell samefags apart, but it threatens the Anonymous idea a
bit. Not too much though, since you often don't look at the ID or remember what ID has said what
previously in the thread.

Tripcodes and names are to prevent an inherent fault in the Anonymous system; anyone can pretend

Anonymous has long since transcended the concept of "posts" and isolated to boards, it's just
where you see it most clearly, but it's everywhere. Anonymous is a concept; a nameless,
disorganized group(s) which comprises anyone and is an extension of the group's common interests
and will.
Hence the "Anonymous has always existed"; probably the only interesting part of this flash.
