  Let glorious Anon teach you how to download from Youtube hacker style.
  If you use Firefox, press Ctrl Shift K. If IE, press F12.
  Go to youtube video. A few entries should pop up. These are called headers, and you're logging
  them.
  You're looking for something along the lines of:
  http://o-o.preferred.lax04s12.v4.lscache5.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?
  And there's a shit ton of crap at the end of it.
  Or if you can't figure it out, keep switching resolutions on the video until you see the header
  for the link pop up.
  Right click + Copy this link into address bar. Remember to remove [00:50:53.591] timestamp and
  [HTTP/1.1 200 OK] header version at the beginning and ends of link.
  A download box should pop up. The filename is videoplayback or something. Once the download
  completes, add ".flv" or ".mp4" extension to filename. Depending on the video, it can be either,
  but for certain any video 720p and above is mp4.

  Glorious Anon is back again with a word of warning.
  This style is as fast as it would take for you to normally buffer a youtube video. You're
  downloading the same exact video you would if you were watching it online. Also, be sure to close
  the youtube tab while downloading 'cause you'll be downloading the same video twice at the same
  time if you don't.
  Never use online youtube downloaders. They're fucking shit, slow, and more than often they don't
  work, and if youtube updates the way they send the video to you, these websites never will.
  Converting to MP3 or whatever should be done by yourself—all you do is rip the sound from the
  video and you're done. No conversion necessary, though the sound might come out as an .aac file.
  Glorious Anon approves of Firefox DownThemAll addon. It uses this exact method to download your
  youtube video, but I'd prefer you do it manually to save yourself another addon to slow down
  firefox's startup.
