captcha saved 4chan, it reduced spam greatly. i cant even imagine how much spam it would be today
had captcha not been added.
still it is obvious that captcha is not enough. there are paid services that can help bypass
captcha, and they are being used today on the board. soon computers will start being smart enough
to guess captcha correctly every once in a while.
in afraid in the future some form of account might be necessary on 4chan. its easy to think "no
man, that will never happen" but imagine refreshing /b/ and only on 1 out of 5 refreshes you will
get a page that has not 100% spam threads. yes, it could get that bad without good captcha.
especially since popularity of 4chan is growing.

actually popularity of 4chan is decreasing since reddit and 9gag. i can only rejoyce of that

yeah i thought of that just when i submitted the post
however those people were lurkers anyway, most of them at least. i dont think the post count has
decreased much since they left
