They probably just used SQL injection (I think it's called). Make sure you replace ' with '' in
all queries (depends on what SQL engine you're using of course, but escaping all special
characters are extremely important).
What they did was log in as admin using something like ' OR ID=1 in the user/password field. To
put it simply, instead of logging in with a user name and password they logged in using code.
