actually windows 7+ can recover from just about any temporary hardware crash
also you can add support for just about anything in windows like with linux

I dont use linux but I know windows is giving me a fuckload of problems. High latency windows
firewall screwing up my connection, impossible to connect to xp network properly (using win 7). I
cant say if linux is much better though. I just dont see why its so hard to make something that
just fucking works. They did it with the BBC micros hell my old one is still going 20 yrs old.
Can barely get a comp past one year without it fucking up.
