It looks like he's mourning, but "mourning" probably doesn't exist in the psychological world of
cats. Instead, he's probably just confused and used to being around him, so he doesn't know
what's going on. Still, it's sad, and child-like, but he probably isn't innately sad or mournful
and that's just our human perspective telling us that he is.

It is very sad to see when you factor in human emotions but I'm going to break it to you what is
really going on here. I am a cat expert, btw, no lie. I'm writing a book about my clinical trials
and personal observations.
ANY FUCKING WAY:
The cat is tenderizing his "friend" to eat him. Yes, cats eat other cats, their owners, etc...
they will stop once it has been dead too long. If you don't believe me, do your own research.
There are many cases of cats eating there own and also eating part of their dead owners.
Something else to consider: They usually eat part of the human's face and hands.
Intelligent? yes
Emotional? no
