  Sonic side scrollers were ALWAYS broken. The little blue bugger moved move way faster than any
  human is capable of reacting, so the games were an exercise in memorizing the level layout before
  you could pull all the "GOTTA GO FAST" stunts that impress your friends (back when gamers had
  friends, instead of YouTube watchers).
