Its going to be a metroidvania game, literally. X parasite + draculas castle is it in a nutshell.

You got to do something with the controls man. A,S and Z are not a good mix of keys. The player
would be in more control if it was Z, X and C.

I didn't mean to make you feel pressured or anything, it was just a suggestion. For now, just try

On that subject, it seems that you have to move to end the whip attack while jumping.

~Story~
Less condensed. Federation keeps sample of x during experiment gets loose infects crew including
captain. One scientist gets away before full contamination launches emergency escape pod/ship and
before leaving sees captain plot course for Earth.

Scientist looks through Earth's data logs and sees potential threats and heroes (Dracula and
Jonathan respectively) with the Anti-X in hand sets course for Jonathan's abode. With his damaged
thruster from the manual escape he crashes and emerges from his ship. Jonathan investigates and
sees the crashed ship and approaches slowly while the scientist, mortally injured, emerges from
the rubble. The scientist embraces Jonathan and injects him with the Anti-X, and he is immune to
the X parasite. The BSL ship with the poor immitation of the captain crashes into Dracula's
castle.

Dracula's remains are infected and combine with the X (Dracula X lol) spreads the X and his
minions across the globe and Jonathan must stop him with his immunity and ability to eradicate
the parasite.
Would you guys be okay if the other hunters got infected and Jonathan had to defeat them and cure
them? Then they could be used as other characters?

If you walk up or down stairs and then press down, the walking animation will freeze. Also slide
issues are still there.
Not sure if it's supposed to keep you from attacking once you doublejump.
When walking you can't continuously attack.

whipping animation takes FUCKING FOREVER
can't whip out of a double jump
occasionally can get stuck in infinite slide loop w/out moving
can't whip after hitting head on ceiling
double jump is delayed and single jump is iffy so if you fall off a platform you sometimes fail
to recover because of weird timing
with platforms you can jump through, if you only jump halfway through them, you can "run into"
them, hindering your lateral movement
controls are weird. ASD or ZXC would be much more intuitive
if you jump while holding a direction key and continue to hold it until you land, you can't whip,
jump, or backdash until you release the arrow key

Good progress so far.
S - backdash can be quickly pressed twice for a second slide that breaks the animation.
A + S - can be pressed simultaneously for continuous backdash with no delay, or animation. The
sound does repeat though.
Movement + A - the priority is too high for movement, forcing you to have to come to a stop to
attack. The should be a condition where movement loses priority of the other button presses.
Backdash should always have a higher priority than movement, but less than jump.
That's all I will put for now so I can get it out before the flash 404's.

Ill customize the whip animation so its faster and the startup is his taunt. Profit yes. Also
doublejump platform movement hindering as well as the ability to move and be able to whip whilest

OP, try holding [down] + [jump], when you are at the point of holding them and stationary, hold
[whip].

Jumping is a pain in the ass because if he's anywhere close to an edge and moving, he will NOT
jump, he'll just go over the edge. Need to do something about this, such as adding in a grace
period for jumping, or just in general making jumping more responsive. Should be able to attack
while jumping, while falling, and multiple times without releasing the forward button. Control
scheme needs improvement
