I forget which Greek mythology this is (loosely) based on, though.

The real ending to this game is so much better if you don't end up dying. It's really hard, but
possible.

Legend in ancient greece says that if you make it to tartarus (greek hell) then the God of death
would grant you one wish. This man has just lost his wife and is determined to get her back so he
fights all the way to the god of death. Lord death asks what the man wishes, to which the man
replies i want my wife back from your grasp. Death says it shall be done. The man, knowing
Death's game asks what the catch is? Death calls him clever and says you may have your wife back
if you follow this one rule: You cannot look at her until you reach her grave again. The man
accepts and makes his way back to the surface. When he reaches her grave again, he realizes that
it was just a dream.
And that's how i remember the story.

There's also another ending to the story, that Hades is greedy (like all of them, really) and
stipulates that if he looks back, she can't go with him after all. Hades then tries to trick the
man into looking back, making it seem as if she's begging the man to help her, in pain, being
attacked, etc etc
