If you really think that captcha should be removed, you obviously haven't been here long enough
to have experienced the horrors of spams, flood, and advertisements.
I've seen viruses embedded in posted images that crippled the site with floods of more virus
infected images, pages upon pages of nothing but porn ads being posted faster than you could
click filter, and the spamming of unfunny memes beyond what any of you could comprehend. Complain
all you want about the extra two seconds it takes you to post, but the introduction of the
captcha has increased the quality of this site more than anything else has.
Marked for deletion (old).

They're not talking about a global removal of captcha, genius, just on /f/.
Someone complained about zeitfag spam, moot enables captcha without realizing the spam is manual,
not automated.
I have a Pass, so I don't care either way, but spam is not a problem on /f/. Captcha isn't needed
here.

>ive seen things, ive seen them with my eyes
facepalm. none of that applies to /f/.
>>1802575
>i have a pass
double facepalm. you're the one making moot do this, feeding him money. sure, if these passes are
just something existing in the background but there are fucking nag about it fucking everywhere.
what really gets to me is when you mistype a captcha and he actually gives you the text "passes
can bypass the captcha" and tries to make you buy one. "CANT YOU SEE HOW FUCKING BOTHERSOME THIS
IS, JUST FUCKING BUY ONE NOW YOU FAGGOT"

He's been running HIS website at a loss for all these years. Surely you wouldn't mind him
reminding you of the Pass once in a while.
I mean, even if you fuck up, it's not like you're eagerly waiting for replies, or are you? This
shit is fine with or without captcha. And if moot wants to rub the Pass on your face, deal with
it.

Yes, yes, we were all there when the wonky looking images were spammed with instructions, and if
you saved them, you were fucked, if you followed the instructions, you were fucked even more.
Only one problem. They were perpetuated by newfags like you who were naive enough to save them,
get infected, and then post on /b/ again, allowing it to replicate. Unlike most of you, I heeded
posters warnings, and didn't do dumb shit.
Only one incident happened in /f/: javascript exploits embedded in flash. And they didn't go away
because of captcha, it went away because adobe and the browsers fucking updated.
Jesus christ, you are a cancerous newfag. Do us all a favor and leave here forever.

Yes I am waiting for replies. Why would you post a flash if you don't want replies? I wouldn't.
If I want to show my disatisfaction about having 4chan gold account shoved in my face every
minute of the day I will do it, you can sit in the corner if you like but I don't do that.
>He's been running HIS website at a loss for all these years.
First of all HIS website is nothing without EVERYBODY ELSE. Second there are no numbers for his
loss, maybe he has lost thousands upon thousands of dollars and could barely eat for months, or
maybe he payed a couple of hundred a month for his server and bandwidth while gaining some of
that back through ads.
>> [_] Anonymous 11/06/12(Tue)19:42 No.1802648
It's not like you can say 4chan has been running at a loss anyway, this isn't a damn business.
It's a place where people come to talk. If moot gains or loses money personally is pretty
irrelevant to its users. It's not like moot hasn't enjoyed being the admin of 4chan these years,
keeping the site alive has no doubt been a pleasure and I'm sure he saw those money he spent on
it as an investment. For each year he payed for upkeep the site grew in size, eventually it was
bound to start making money instead of costing money.

I mean his attitude now is not "help out if you want by donating and in return youll get rid of
the captcha". It's "buy this thing to make the site less annoying".
4chan has grown so much that he knows that people will stick around even if he makes it annoying
to use unless people pay him some money. His investment has started to bear fruit, we have no
choice now than accept whatever he does. That's extremely frustrating, I don't want to be told
all the damn time to give him money to make the site more convenient to use.
What I'd accept is that he keep the "4chan Pass users can bypass this CAPTCHA. [Learn More]"
below the verification field and nothing more. BUT he should add [x] to the right of the "learn
more"-link which will hide the text and set a cookie to keep it hidden for at least a week.

And it works.
Must be frustrating that nobody respects your right to be a butthurt commie. Maybe you should
start your own chan, or move over to 420chan.

All I seem to see here is "Whine, whine, butthurt emotions, bitch-and-complain, whine." CAPTCHA
solved the problems, you stupid fags.

THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS ON /f/
As I said, if you wanna sit in the corner fine, go ahead. But don't start mouthing off to people
that want to discuss things instead of just accepting a bad situation.
