It really is too bad that FFVII didn't age well. The entire game after Midgar just slows down,
the vast majority of disc 1 is complete filler. Replaying it is a pain, not a joyfully nostalgic
experience.
FFVIII (a decisively inferior game) aged better.

I replayed it a couple months ago and was completely swept away like it was the day I picked it
up from preorder so many years ago.
