Seems like he has made it so that the game doesn't work on domains that he hasn't allowed. Or maybe
the game is trying to load external resources.
Works if you download it and play it locally.

Just noticed that the maker of SMBC made a kickstarter during the summer to make his own game:

Looks like it was a success since they raised 50k USD, so he's working on that new game right now.
There's supposed to be a documentary about it later too. Will be interesting to see what happens,
the guy obviously has a knack for programming platformers.
