Using debian since more than 1 year now, and windows xp on dual boot (for games mainly).

Ubuntu, though I'm considering switching over to OpenSUSE. I've always hated the .deb format, but
sadly Ubuntu is the best-supported distro, so I'm low on options. Meanwhile, zypper is the
greatest package manager in the world and I've heard that YaST is wonderful for configuration;
I'd leap over to it faster than a rabbit into the path of an incoming car if not for the vital
support advantage Ubuntu possesses.

honestly, with the exception of using a brand new HDD and not wanting to buy windows, what fuckin
reason is there to use linux on the desktop?

Windows XP fuck yer
The only time I used Linux was in a Server class and I didn't see anything wrong with it, but I
never really felt like I needed to not be using Windows for my home computer.

I'm using Ubuntu base with Cinnamon, because Ubuntu is the best distro on laptops.
My battery lasts for 11 hours straight.

Well, no.
But, every third month or something?
Things changes very fast on the different Linux distros, and sometimes i want to try out these
changes.

Configuration options are almost always better. Look up "awesomewm" for a popular example of
alternative ways to set up your system; shit's cray.

Stability and security are generally better. And personally all of the software I need is
available natively in Linux (and in one case isn't available on windows, go fig).
