Not that it's an excuse, but /f/ has had a lot of that for a long time.
I think the "problem" is that /f/ is a very slow board compared to most - You can't really just
F5 it all day the same way you could to a fast moving board like /v/ or /b/. So people come and
go and never really get the entire /f/ experience, becoming forever new.
Why /f/ gets a lot of stupid comments is a slightly more involved problem; The style of this
board is pretty different from any other. It's hard to have a discussion here, or at least it
doesn't happen often - Threads are less about "discuss this awesome thing" so much as a dropbox
for "check out this awesome thing". Posts are therefore usually very terse and threads approach
the level and style of youtube comments more than anything else.
