Ghost In The Shell is the anime where the girl is from. Looks like she's on a road trip looking
for maximum happiness.

What were those little animals? And what was the point of them? I thought she was taking that
fuzzy one somewhere, but he wasn't with her?

They are actually a flora of some kind that grow in water, found only in very specific areas of
scandanavia and japan. Don't remember what they are called. As for why they are personified, I
have no idea.

I have one, but I don't know what they're called, It was given to me on a trip to japan and I've
always just called it a squishy. They're little moss/algae balls that grow in fresh water over
the years. When I got mine it was the size of a pea, but now it's grown to the size of about a
tennis ball after 6 years. They're really easy to care for, too, I've just kept mine in an old
pint glass with fresh water changed every week.
