I think you're mistaken. Botanically, the ovaries of a plant are called fruit, whereas the term
vegetables is purely culinary in origin. All other types of plant-edibles are categorized by
their nature of production such as leaves, roots, stems, etc. But by saying as such I'd agree
that now we're just arguing semantics.
